Marketing Director - Software

The opportunity: Our North American expansion has created the need for a marketing leader who can excite the industry with our strategic vision, enhance our brand and position our innovative software solutions to accelerate growth. This role will create and execute marketing and communication strategies that highlight our differentiated offerings to targeted prospects, identifying and nurturing new customer opportunities.  As a member of the Customer & Markets team the ideal candidate will maintain knowledge of the research and development product roadmap to position our solution platform in the marketplace in support of sales efforts.  This will include but will not be limited to developing sales and marketing collateral, case studies, and presentations and will collaborate with the team to develop customer proposals. This key strategic role will also be involved in marketing and sales strategies and therefore will require a visionary with foresight and instinct to effectively position our software solutions to both technical and non-technical industry leaders, influencers and decision makers.

Who you are:

You are a strong marketing professional with ability to understand customer issues and identify emerging market opportunities and have the technical depth to translate software technology solutions into customer value. You have a strong background in marketing strategy and integrated marketing communications.

Your responsibilities:

  • Lead the focus on Product Marketing. Develop and implement product messaging and positioning by translating technology into customer benefits through web content, marketing deliverables, product sales sheets, case studies, customer presentations and proposals.
  • Identify, plan and participate in relevant industry events, speaking opportunities, webinars, industry analyst activities
  • Perform segment analytics to develop short and long-range strategies for increased market share, penetration, and expansion.
  • Develop comprehensive marketing plans with a focus on value proposition strategies
  • Provide support to sales forecasting and product planning
  • Track and analyze the competitive environment
  • Develop strategies to address new and existing competitive threats and channel partner opportunities
  • Assist with general marketing activities, including managing contracts for marketing and communications service providers

Here’s what you bring:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience and at least five of which have been in the Product Marketing area at a management level and marketing products and/or services
  • Combination of strong business acumen and technical knowledge in software and energy
  • Experience in the creation and delivery of product marketing materials, including data sheets, case studies, customer presentations, competitive analysis, proposal responses and other collateral
  • Must have a credible, compelling and verifiable track record of success as a product marketing professional and consistent delivery of quality output in a fast changing and dynamic environment with an ability to work towards tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to form key relationships with various stakeholders including customers, industry influencers, analysts, etc.
  • Ability to multitask and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • A self-starter with an independent, yet collaborative style; hungry to make things happen and do what it takes to get the job done.  Confident to express thoughts, ideas, vision in a clear and compelling manner both written and orally  

Nice to have:

  • Experience in the energy sector

  • Experience working in a fast-paced growing technology environment

  • Technical degree
